Overview
This fellowship program provides extensive clinical, surgical and academic exposure to management & surgery for vitreo - retinal disorders. Nethradhama has trained, refined and molded multiple students into skilled surgeons and ethical ophthalmologists as they step into bright & promising careers.
Eligibility
Post MS/MD/DNB ophthalmology or any equivalent degree recognized by MCI

Program Overview
Teaching Program

Regular Seminars
- Regular weekly seminar presentations by fellows , moderated by consultants of the department.
- Regular journal clubs discussing the latest developments in opthomology.
- Weekly case presentations conducted in an exam oriented manner.

OPD & Procedures
- Extensive training in investigative procedures such as Indirect Ophthalmoscopy, OCT, Fundus photography, FFA, OCTA, B-Scan, ICGA, ERG, VEP etc
- Fellows are trained in various retinal laser techniques such as Pan Retinal Photocoagulation, Barrage Laser, Focal Laser, Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscopy, etc.

Workshops & Conferences
- Fellows are encouraged to participate in National and International conferences to present and publish papers and posters
- Fellows are encouraged to volunteer for inhouse conferences, training programs and CMEs
Surgical Training

Retina Wet Labs
- We have a fully functional wet lab with microscopes, instruments and model eyes, etc.
- It is available 24x7 for improving the student’s surgical skills.

Intravitreal injections
- An in-depth insight into the latest advancements in anti-VEGF, Steroid injections and implants, along with surgical training under supervision is provided by experienced surgeons in the field

Retinal Surgeries
- Students are trained under expert guidance with the latest instruments and technologies in different Retinal surgeries- Pars Plana Vitrectomy , Scleral buckling, IOFB removal and trauma cases, ILM peeling, Macular Hole surgieries, SFIOL and Phaco fragmentation

Hospital Postings
Rotations in Refraction Clinic, Low Vison Aids clinic, Contact lens Clinic, Computer Vision Clinic and Diagnositics.
Fellows are tagged with senior consultants in the Phaco-refractive department for one-on-one training.

Charitable Hospital Postings
Retina fellows students are posted once a week to Charitable Hospital for performing surgeries and handling independent OPD.

Night Duties
Fellows are posted for evening and night duties twice a week and are trained to manage emergency cases under expert guidance. Accomodation is provided for the duty doctors

Library For Students
The library facilities are available 24x7 containing all the latest books/journals.
Cutting Edge Equipment
All fellows have access to the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and get hands on experience.
Laboratory
The in-house microbiology lab gives students a chance to understand the preparation of slides/culture media and diagnose infections.
Canteen
Healthy and homelike meals are available inhouse canteen.
