Dr. Sowmya has received her basic medical education from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences and MS Ophthalmology from Minto Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Bangalore Medical College. She has done her long term Vitreo-Retina Surgical fellowship from Nethradhama Superspecialty Eye Hospital.
She is a lifetime member of AIOS, KOS, DOS, EURETINA
She has presented various papers nationally and internationally.
